The Star Time Playboys

The Star Time Playboys is an instrumental trio from Slovenia mixing swing, country, surf, rockabilly and other influences in their sound. The band was formed in 2015 in demand of playing a regular gigs at a swing venue. In early 2016 they already released their first single „I’m Surfish“ that was followed by their first album „It’s Star Time!“ released on Slovenian Martin’s Garage records. They first presented album on Rollin‘ Dudes festival in Austria, but the vinyl version was first available few months later at Slovenian frstival Rockin‘ Riviera.
The following year Urban decided to visit California to research the roots of music and instruments and also meet some of his idols including Tommy Harkenrider, TK Smith, Junior Watson, Kid Ramos and others. Tommy and Urban recorded there an EP „Orange County Session“ which was released in 2018.
From then the band continued to play gigs and festivals in Slovenia and around including Zagreb Vintage (Cro), Zelenkovac Jazz festival (BiH), Who Cares For Beer (At), Retropatija (Cro), Green Gold (Slo).
